AT Metro has over 2 million passengers per annum travelling to Waiheke Island, Devonport and the other Hauraki Gulf attractions. With Fuller’s ferries arriving and departing every half hour, Pier 2 at the Downtown Ferry Terminal is one of Auckland’s busiest places. With no secure storage for either domestic users or international visitors, it was a glaring gap in one of AT’s most important locations.
Elocker installed 40 electronic lockers and a terminal that speaks eight languages and accepts credit and debit cards from around the world. We developed user personas for AT and provided strategic direction on why and when their customers would need to use storage and luggage lockers. Based on this knowledge, we installed two different size lockers to meet the market’s demand. We also decalled the locker to create an aesthetic reminder of what travellers were about to see on the harbour.
AT Metro through Elocker, now offers their travellers a safe, secure facility to leave luggage on an hourly, daily or weekly basis. Ferry passengers can access the lockers 24/7 with multiple entries – which is particularly important for domestic commuters going to and from Auckland city each day.
