Wellington International Airport is growing year on year. It had a manual left luggage system where passengers needed to use a landline to call a porter. The porter would then open a room, write out a ticket, lift the bag in place then lock the door - every time someone wanted to leave their bag in storage.
Elocker worked closely with Wellington Airport to develop a solution that was secure, reduced the need for manual operation and that worked. They had trialled a different set of electronic lockers but they weren’t able to provide the support required. There were also significant performance issues.
The Airport have a new set of attractive lockers (highlighting the Wellington southern coast) that are being heavily used. They have freed up room in the terminal itself and reduced the staff impacts. We are in talks already about adding more lockers both to the existing block and a new airport location.
